Embarking on my first student trip alone, surrounded by strangers who would soon become lifelong friends! With slightly sweaty palms, I summoned the courage for this epic journey. After reassuring calls with appamma and Padmapriya, I set off for the land of the Alps. The train was on time, and I dozed off, exhausted but eager for what lay ahead.

Arriving in Frankfurt on time, my excitement was tempered by disappointment when my name wasn't on the list. I began to doubt if Nihal had actually booked (he did!). A team error left me with the worst seat on the bus, complete with a faulty lever. Despite this, I resigned myself to enjoy the journey and accepted my fate.

The next morning, amidst deep sleep, I discovered my friends Mangala and Abhinav behind me were fellow Kannadigas: a delightful surprise! With technically empty stomachs and sleepy faces, we swiftly moved to the cable car excursion.

Up we went, and the view was breathtaking. Words fail to capture the beauty of the snow-capped peaks and lush green mountains unfolding before us.

The cold was biting, a reminder of my oversight in forgetting my sweater. We touched the soft glaciers, ventured through caves, and emerged into the brilliant snow-covered landscape. Every frame was a picturesque painting come to life.

Buying expensive Indian food at the summit seemed foolish in hindsight, but the experience was priceless. Descending to Interlaken, the tranquil land between two lakes, offered respite as we relaxed by the river.

Despite the altitude-induced fatigue from the Titlis excursion, the sight of double rainbows over the river in Interlaken lifted our spirits.

Finally, we settled for the night at IBIS hotel in France, where a room-sharing mishap led to an awkward yet restful sleep.

After a hearty French breakfast, we journeyed to Geneva for souvenirs before heading to the stunning Chamonix valley, nestled beneath majestic Mont Blanc. The backdrop was perfect for memorable photos. Joined by fellow Indians, we dined at the delightful Annapoorna restaurant for a satisfying Indian meal, followed by an exhilarating alpine adventure on a mountain roller coaster.

Exploring a local flea market and hiking alongside breathtaking mountain views culminated in the discovery of a stunning waterfall.

As we returned with full stomachs, bidding farewell, I knew this journey was just the beginning of incredible adventures to come.
